Give Credit Where Credit Is Due

There is almost nothing that will decrease employee morale – and participation – more than neglecting to give credit and praise.

When an employee comes up with an idea that saves the day, let it be known to all other staff members.

If a team member goes above and beyond the call of duty, offer public recognition so that everyone knows who should have the credit for that particular effort.

Everyone likes to be recognized for making a contribution. Not offering credit when it’s due will lead to reduced employee enthusiasm and creativity not to mention increased dissatisfaction and negativity.
