Many businesses have the opportunity to provide employee discounts. It might be on
merchandise manufactured, travel or hotels, in-store apparel, cell phones or plans, or whatever it is that your business does.
Most employees appreciate the opportunity to get something at a discounted price.
To
further enhance employee morale, and instill in them a greater pride for the business, the industry, and the hard work involved to produce the merchandise, consider offering the employees an additional discount,
perhaps of 10%.
In a society where most companies are looking for ways to save money, you could offer this
additional discount in a number of ways that would not have major financial impact.
For example, if not in a position to offer the extra discount on a permanent basis, you might offer it on employees'
birthdays, one day a month, or periodically as an unexpected motivator.
Typically, employees realize that companies carefully watch the books and therefore, when an
employer goes out of their way to do something a little extra, they know their hard work and dedication are appreciated.
The boost from the employer does not have to be anything extravagant since
simply making the effort is a step in the right direction for building employee morale within the company.
